Shopping Spree

Not really, just a little one. I spent $100 at Kohls on Monday! Dad had sent me a gift card and I got money from Santa as well :) So none of it was out of my pocket... I was so happy because I really need pants, but guilty for spending the money at the same time... I have issues! I only have 1 pair of jeans that I fit in, so I wear them almost everyday. I haven't lost ANY weight since Jake was born so I can't wear any of my 7 pairs of pre-pregnancy pants. UGH! Depressing. Anyway, I bought 1 pair of jeans, 1 blue trousers (so cute!), 1 black trousers, a yellow sweater, a skirt, and some nylons (I have about a hundred runs in the ones I had). The jeans are very long but they fit around the waist. Apparently people who wear my size are MUCH taller than I am. So I will have to hem them. Overall, it was a very successful shopping trip. I also had a $50 CVS gift card that Luis won on Quibids, so I went and bought some make-up and cute purple nail polish... and other boring stuff. I called Isabel for make-up advice. I got mineral make-up- against her advice, but did take her advice on tinted moisturizer. Haven't tried it yet, but I will let you know how I like it! I also got some new eye shadow. Sorry for all the details, but I haven't shopped for myself in a VERY long time, so it was so much fun. Oh, and that's the last time I shop the Monday after Christmas, it was crazy!

Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!

I love Christmas! I really wish I had more pictures. Liz and Becky both took pics, so if I get some of theirs later on I will do another post.

Christmas Eve we went to the annual Christmas Eve dinner and gift exchange at the Gutierrez home. There were about 30 people... a small crowd compared to what I remember last year. We each buy a $5 gift for the exchange. We bought gifts for kids, some jumping beans and some matchbox cars. Fernie Gutierrez picked the cars and opened it. When Jackson saw the cars, he ran up to Fernie and said "Wow!!!!!" He kept repeating that and following Fernie around. Fernie ended up giving Jackson the cars, it was so nice. guess I got my money's worth with that gift :)

During the party, I remembered that Silvia had assigned me to get the potatoes for funeral potatoes for CHristmas dinner. At 7:30 was when I remembered... and I immediately left and went down the street to Walmart, where they were already closing the store. The "Enter" doors were closed and the security gaurd told me I couldn't go inside... but I went in the "exit" doors anyways! I felt bad for not listening to him... but all I needed was the potatoes! Once I got to the grocery section, another worker stopped me and told me I had to leave. I begged her to let me get the potatoes... and she FINALLY let me. I ran back to the frozen section and got 5 bags of frozen potatoes! I had no cart so my hands were freezing! I felt so accomplished! I couldn't believe walmart closed that early.

After that we came home and waited for Danny to get home from work. He works at Kmart. Jake couldn't stay up any longer and I put him to bed at 11:45. Finally, Danny got home and we got started, about 12:30. We were opening presents and hanging out until 2:30-3ish. Jackson was up the whole time (I'm never doing that again!). Jax wasn't very interested in opening presents because he was so tired. But he enjoyed the toys.

Here are some of the gifts...
Jax got the Hooked on Phonics collection from Grandma and Papa Lew, a play desk from Alan and Liz, a cute chalk board Mom made, a bunch of toys, including singing bear-thingys from Mom and Dave, Chutes and Ladders, Thomas the train, a Veggie Tales DVD from me and Luis, Clothes from Becky and church shoes and lightening mcqueen shoes.

Jacob got a corn popper pusher from me and Luis, shoes from grandma and Papa Lew, a musical helicopter from Alan and Liz, a musical car from Grandma and Grandpa Gibson, clothes from Becky, tons of toys.

I got many gift cards, I can't wait to go on dates with Luis. I also got lots of jewelry. I got some makeup brushes from Luis' siblings, they are so soft! Love them. Candy, a cute family picture frame from mom.

Luis got... a KINDLE, biggest surprise of the night, from his parents. I got him a watch and watch box. Liz and Alan got him a shirt, and so did mom and Dave. He also got cufflinks, some scripture quotes post-ins, gift cards, Night at the Museum.

The most sentimental gift of the night was for Silvia and Lew. Alan and Liz had bought a slide scanner and scanned in all their HUNDREDS of slides from their entire marriage, including the kids' childhoods. They don't own hard copies of pictures, they only had their slides... until now! They have them all as digital copies and can print off any picture they want! It was such an awesome things for them to do!

Christmas morning was so wonderful. We all slept in, even the boys. We had a late breakfast of MOnkey bread. Jacob was more excited about his stocking than Jackson was! We had 8 missionaries over for Christmas dinner, and I ate way too much! It was so good, I love ham! What a wonderful day.

Here are some pictures. Sorry, I am too lazy to label them or even put them in order.

Dentist Appt

Jacob had his first dentist appt today. He is 11 months old, but he has a lot of teeth already. Jackson had an appt too. He was first and he was very good, but he was scared. He cried the whole time but opened his mouth fine and didn't fight the dentist. I was so proud of him. This is actually his second dentist appointment, but I don't think he remembered the last one. He is going back on Monday to get sealants put on his molars to prevent cavities. (He has none right now, of course!) Jake did great as well. He enjoyed the dentist brushing his teeth. He got xrays of his 2 front teeth because I told the dentist about how he smacked his mouth on they coffe table a few months ago and how his gums were bleeding. She said everything looks normal, so that relieved some worry. Yesterday both boys had check-ups at the doctor's office and Jackson got a flu shot and Jacob got caught up on all his shots. He never got his 6 month shots, that's what he got yesterday. In January he will go back for his 12 month shots. Jake slept for 5 1/2 hours after he got his shots :) Poor things was so traumatized! Jackson got a lollipop after his shot, so he was happy!

Tonight is our ward Christmas party! I don't think Jackson will be too thrilled about sitting on Santa's lap. He wasn't happy about it last year. Linda and Alan are coming on Monday, so we are all very excited! And then we will be up to 3am every night for the next 10 days... fun, fun, fun! That's what happens when Weger's get together! Merry Christmas everyone... in advance! I love Christmas! I mailed out Christmas cards on Wednesday, so hopefully everyone will get them before Christmas!

Can I?

Jackson is really good about asking for things. We worked on that for a long time. He says "Can I have jugo?" or "can I have candy?" However, he sometimes inserts the "can" when it is not necessary.

For example, the other day he ran up to me jumping up and down like he needed to go potty and said, "can I have poo poo?!?!?" and off to the potty he ran!

We are working on that...

Catching up!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We are getting very excited about Christmas coming... now that the tree is decorated and the house is as well, thanks to Becky! I am surprised by how well the boys are staying away from the tree. I was so worried that Jake would be trying to touch it constantly, but he really isn't! I am getting the boys pictures taken tomorrow at JC Penney. I have a gift card which will pay for their portraits, so that means you all will get pictures in your Christmas card this year! I can't decide if I want to do a holiday portrait or just a normal dressed up portrait... any opinions?

Linda, Alan, Danny, and Luis and I all pitched in and bought Becky a hard guitar case for her Bday so she can take it to school with her in January. She LOVED it!

Lately, Jax has become unusually unphotogenic. Especially if I say "smile"... he closes his eyes when I say smile, it drives me crazy!

Silvia bought Jacob his first pair of shoes. I definitely didn't think he would be needing them this early. Poor Jackson was so sad when he realized there were no new shoes for him. So Silvia went out today to buy Jax a new pair of shoes too! He is so spoiled! (he kinda needs them, his shoes are pretty tight)

If you look closely you can see his third bottom tooth coming in on the right!

Did I mention how Jake has been getting himself stuck lately? He got in and couldn't get out!

Helping with Christmas decorations. Luis helped Jackson put the star on the tree... that was fun!

Jacob is walking like a pro. He pretty much wants to run already! He is 10 months old, going to be 11 months on Dec 13th. I can't believe how fast he has grown. Jackson as well! He just turned 3 but is wearing 4T. I am making him wear his same winter shirts as last year because they still fit, they are just a little short in the arms. But they are all 3T... I bought them big when he was 2 last year, hoping they would still fit this winter and I think they do for the most part.

This is Jackson lately!
