push-ups

I am declaring my goal... so I will have more determination to follow through! My goal is to be able to do 50 push-ups by Christmas!!! I have been working on this and so far I can do only 10 real push-ups in a row. I can do lots on my knees... but I am shooting for the real deal! Ok... hold me accountable! :)

Jacob funny

We were picking Jax up from school the other day. There is a shady area where all the parents wait for the kids to come out. I was holding Jake and he sneezed... and farted at the same time. :) I said "Excuse you!" He said "No, excuse you Mom!" I was like "What? Excuse you!" And he was like "No, excuse you!" And back and forth we went. It had the potential to be an embarrassing situation, with Jake blaming the fart on me when he really did it... but I don't think anyone was paying attention. It was really funny though. That child! It's like when Kaylee used to yawn in church and do that screeching yawn thing... and then she would say something like "Gross, Face!" (Remember when she called me Face?)

A little bit of everything!

I can't wait until the Holidays! Of course I love them because of family and friends and service for others... but I also love the holidays because most people are just SO happy! I love the cheer! I'm already excited! I think it is brought on by the fact that it is finally cooling off around here (and the boys are watching Polar Express!). We had a very mild summer, thankfully. It really has only been the last 2 weeks or so that were in the 90s. Big difference from last year, which had almost a whole month with temps above 100. But yesterday and today the mornings have been in the 50s/60s! It feels amazing! It feels like fall is here! The leaves are already starting to turn colors! So, we are getting excited!!! We will be heading to Mom and Dave's house for Christmas... so if anyone wants to join us... just sayin! I miss you guys! Especially you Ethan... I think about you every time I see that hot chocolate stain on my carpet... :)

I know angry birds have been around forever. But we never played it or let the boys play it until very recently. Well, they love it! We saw these shirts on clearance at Walmart yesterday and the boys love them!

This is a morning picture... taken by Jake! Cute.

Like I said, Jax has been doing great at school! No more sad faces! His teacher sent this note home on Thursday! Love it! We are proud of him too!

Quick hello

I just wanted to post real quick and say hello. Jackson has been doing great at school! All last week and every day so far this week he has come home with a smiley face. He has behaved so well on his teachers new behavior plan. I don't remember if I blogged about this. His teacher put him on his own behavior plan which has helped so much. Usually she would give several verbal warnings before he has to move his name... if he moves his name 3 times it's a sad face for the day. Now, she gives Jackson 5 cubes in the morning. Everytime she has to give him a verbal warning she takes one cube. So he has 5 chances before he moves his name. Since she started this, he has only moved his name once! I think he is a visual kid and having the visual of losing a cube helps the warning sink in! I am really proud of him and thankful he has a teacher willing to work with him. Jacob also loves school time and has the LONGEST attention span. He has been working in his preschool workbook for at least 2 hours already. And he gets sad if I tell him it's time to stop! I love that!

Luis went shooting with the scouts. Even though he was released as scout master. The scouts used up most of the ammo, so the leaders only got 5 shots! This was Luis' grouping. Pretty good. They were using rifles so Luis got to test out our new emergency rifle. Fun.

Jacob and Daddy being creative :)

Picture Day. We decided not to buy pictures til the end of the year so we can see the pictures before we buy them... but I still wanted him to look good for the class picture!

Lately, Jacob has been wanting to wear Jackson's socks and he pulls them as high up as he can! It's pretty cute.

School time with Jacob

Today was Jacob's official start to school time at home. I started Jackson on the Hooked On Phonics program when he was 3. I have been holding off with Jacob until Jax started school, because I was so focused on Jax finishing the Kindergarten level and knowing basic reading before his school started. So now I can focus on Jake. He loved the videos in the program and we had a lesson on rhyming. On Monday we will start writing his letters! He was so smiley the whole time. He is loving it. He can already write his name in all caps. Here are some random pictures of my handsome boys!
Ready to help make cookies!

It's hard to see because he just used a pen, but he wrote his name all by himself!

Jax wanted his hair spikey for school!!!

Jacob Funny

Luis and Jacob and I were just talking about who is a girl and who is a boy. I said "Mommy is a girl and Daddy is a boy." Jacob said, "No, Daddy isn't a boy." So we said "What is he then?" And Jacob said "A monster!!!" :) He thought he was very funny.

Jax and Jake funny

I just overheard the boys playing in there room. This is what I heard "This is Grandma Gibson's. This is Uncle Matt's. This is Ethan's. This is Grandma Weger's." I walked in and saw them lining up hot wheels cars and telling each other whose cars they were. It was really cute. Whenever we go to the store lately. We will park and they will both say "That's my car!" pointing to a car in the parking lot... they "pick" which car is theirs. Funny.
