New car doesn't look new anymore!

On Sunday last week we were watching a movie with the boys and our neighbor across the street knocked on our door and told us someone just backed into Luis' new car... which was parked on the street. It was such a crazy situation. Turns out the neighbor was showing the house to a possible tenant and some repo guys had followed her to the house. So when they went inside to look at the house, the repo guy hopped into her car and backed up into Luis' car! He immediately left the scene (probably cuz he didn't want a psycho confrontation like you see in those repo shows!) and drove to the police station. But we didn't know that. Luis and I didn't hear the crash but the neighbor did. He was nice enough to come over and get us. The lady looking at the house was telling some weird story like "Oh I think my family borrowed my car..." She was totally covering... I think she knew it was repo-ed... guess she won't be renting that house! Anyways... I called the police and they said the other driver was there at the police station which is about 2 streets down. Thank goodness!!! The repo company's insurance is going to cover everything... which is good, because that right there is $1500 worth of damage! Kind of unbelievable! Figures it was his new car... wish they hit mine! :)

Jacob Funny

Mom is the only picture magnet that has lasted over the years since she made them for us. Jake was playing with her magnet and I asked "Who's that?" He said "Grandma." Then he came up to me and said "What number Grandma is she?" Apparently Grandmas are numbered!!! :)

Snow Storm!

We got hit by the super snow storm and it was awesome! It reminded me of Idaho and Rhode Island! Jax got a week of snow days! Fun for him but sad for me cuz I could've stayed at the Parents' house a whole extra week!

The boys have never experienced this much snow and it was a little hard for Jake to handle! "His nose was froze... and his ears were froze" (101 Dalmations... maybe?)  He only lasted a few minutes. Temperatures were in the negatives.... again... feels like Rexburg.

Jax and Jake loving their tablets from Grandma and Papa Lew. rechargeable batteries are a life saver.

Check these out! I am in chocolate heaven! After Christmas clearance at the Base exchange. half pound each! Pecan clusters and peppermint patties! They are ginormous!

Also, we had a shoe tying bootcamp and I am happy to report that Jax now knows how to tie his shoes. It's a little sloppy but I am so proud of him... and I never want to go through that again! I know I will have too... but what a headache!

Jake's birthday

My baby turned 4! It makes me sad!!! He's not really my baby anymore! He wanted cupcakes and he picked out rainbow cake and lemon frosting... ??? So I turned them into Minion cupcakes. I had to add yellow food coloring to the lemon frosting. And I got creative with blue and red to make the grey :)

We got him a big Tonka truck... this truck has been hiding in our closet since before Christmas and Jake found it (guess I need to hide better). So I re-hid it and he seems to have forgotten about it because he was surprised to see it.

Yes... they are clearance pants :)

Grandma Weger got him oranges! She knows him so well!

Liz and Alan got him a cool lego watch! Jax still hasn't been able to wear it... maybe Jake will share someday.

Grandma and grandpa Gibson gave Jake a walmart gift card which I keep forgetting about whenever I am at Walmart! I promise I will take him to pick out a toy this weekend!!! We went to open play at a gymnastics studio today and I am thinking that for next year's birthday it could be a great place to go. We used Becky's coldstone gift card to go get ice cream after dinner :) So this birthday boy got extra treats! Thanks everyone! He had a fun day!

Jax and Jake funny

The boys love the movie Planes and at some point in the movie I think it says "Time to eat my dust"... I just overheard the boys playing in the room saying to each other "Time to eat my dustiny" I think they are combining lines and making up words!

Jackson funny

Today is the second snow day in a row so I thought I would do some school time with Jackson... spelling words and math. He had to count the ornaments and write how many. There were 3 but he only found 2 so when he told me there were 2 I said "Are you sure? Why don't you double check." So he said ok and went to the spot where you write the answer and wrote down 2 check marks. :)

New Year Letter

We were way too busy in December to get Christmas cards out... so I copied Elyse's idea of a New year card. Here is our New Year letter. If you click the picture it becomes full screen size so you can read it! I am also emailing it out.

Mistaken Identity

I had a free coupon to SportClips and took Jackson to get a haircut. I usually cut his hair and this was the first time he has ever been to a "professional" place. He did great. While we were waiting this commercial came on and right about 10 seconds into it... Jackson burst out "That must be Jesus!" Everyone in the waiting area was cracking up including me. I had to explain that it just looks like Jesus... it's actually a mountain man :) LOL!

glasses and sunbeams

Jax picked out these glasses! They look like glasses Luis wore when he was a kid. The lady who helped us said these are very "in" right now... nerdy cool. I guess Jackson has style.

Our awesome nursery leader made these shirts and scarves for her kids leaving for Sunbeams. Jake loved it.

Home *bittersweet* home

We are happy to be home from our travels because it is always nice to lay down in your own amazingly comfortable bed... but I am actually really sad not to be with family anymore! I always say that I have been so spoiled most of my married life to live so close to family. I miss it. Here we are in the middle of the country all by ourselves! How lonely! We spent a few says with Luis' family in Charlotte and about 10 days with my family. Justine and Joe, Kaylee and her kids, and Izzy and MJ were all there. It was a full house but we had lots of fun times.

Here are a lot of pictures. Not all the good ones. Those are on Kaylee's camera...
I think gingerbread houses with Liz is a new tradition!

The boys reaction to their new blocks! I'm thrilled that they love these blocks. They were a hit with all the kids... and even some of the grown ups!

Candy necklaces... not such a big success.

Ethan wouldn't hold a pose for me! But it's ok... Luis is a pro at it!

So handsome in purple :)

Angry bird socks! Yay!

Grandpa Gibson making really yummy stuffing on Christmas!

Luis and Ethan showing off their new, identical running shoes. The kids were posing like them. Very cute.

Cousins!!!

Malaya is such a sweetheart!

I fell in love with Jesse. Wish I could take him home.

Doesn't Jax look so grown up with Bryan?

A very cute pic of Joe and Justine.

P.S. Luis is selling his new iPhone... any takers? :)
