Surprised Face

This is Jacob's surprised face. Remember how I said he hates the flash on the camera... well now instead of scrunching his face up, this is the face he makes... eyes wide open! He is so cute! Well, the next time I post, we will be all moved and hopefully settled into Silvia and Lew's. We are excited to be able to save some money and I am, of course, excited to have a little help with the boys during the day. It will be fun for Jackson to get to spend so much time with Grandma Weger again. Well, I have tons of cleaning to do, so off I go!

Jacob

Here are some new pictures of little Jacob. He is so adorable and I just love kissing his little cheeks! He is now sleeping almost 9 hours a night without a feeding! I am loving it! Now I just need to work on going to bed right after he does so I can get the same amount of sleep. I have a bad habit of staying up late.

The 12 Days of Easter

I found this easter basket on my bed today... inside are 12 eggs with a surprise inside for me! Today's egg >>> New Moon movie night with chips and salsa con queso! SO EXCITED! How sweet is Luis???

Ouch!

Our camera's memory card officially died, so all the pictures I took of Jackson's beat up face are lost, so this picture is after a few days of healing. (Thankfully I downloaded all the other pics I had on the camera to my computer before it died!)

Jackson decided that he wants to be just like mommy and run on the treadmill! Ouch! I was on the treadmill and I was watching a movie at the same time. I jumped off for a second to turn up the volume and I turned around just in time to see Jackson jump on the moving treadmill... I should have turned it off, I know, I know. He fell face first and slammed against the wall at the end of the treadmill and started rolling. I jumped over and grabbed him, skinning my arm up in the process. Oh, it was such a sad sight! Horrible. He scraped up his nose and left eyebrow. It could have been much worse, so I am thankful that this is all that happened. Then later we went for a walk and he fell and split his lip. Just not a good day for poor Jax. I learned my lesson and I think he did too... he is kind of eyeing the treadmill though, and I can't figure out if he is weary of it now, or just brainstorming another way to get on without falling next time. The second scenario sounds more like Jackson :)

Jackson speaks!

Ok... only a few words... but still exciting! His therapist told me on Thursday that Jackson had said "apple" during their session. Then this morning, before breakfast, I was waiting for Jackson to come over to me so I could get him dressed. He was just sitting there in his ball pit saying something that sounded kinda like "we". I looked at what he had in his hand and it was a flashcard of a leaf. I freaked out! I repeated "leaf" and he repeated "we". He clapped his hands for himself... which makes me believe that he was actually saying leaf and he was proud of himself. It sounded very close... just no L sound. He kept repeating it over and over again and shoving the flashcard in my face so I could see the picture. It was so cute and I am so proud of him! I am going to do flashcards with him later today and hopefully he will have more success with them!

Jackson's New Shoes!

Since it is summer in McAllen now... for the most part... we got Jackson some new sandals! He wears size 9! I can't believe it! We picked them out at Walmart last night and he was very excited. He played with them when we got home and when he saw them this morning, he wanted to wear them today. Of course, it is cold today! But I let him wear them anyways, if he wore his socks. I know... not very fashionable, but for a 2 year old- Who Cares?

This was just a cute picture. These are Jackson's tired eyes... so cute!

Here are some recent pictures of Jacob.

My Solution

Lately, I have been feeling a little not in control of my life. With the 2 boys and Luis working so much... things are just a little crazy for me. I have the solution. I need to have a little control over my own life. I feel like Jackson is running my life! So, I need goals and I need to accomplish them. My big goal right now... is to get back in shape. That will provide a great deal of control I think! So, I thought that by posting my weight loss goals it will make me more determined to acheive them! So here goes... I want to lose 18 lbs by Aubry's wedding on July 16th! That will put me to less than my pre-pregnancy weight and it is totally do-able! Here is my plan. I am going to run between 1-2 hours on my treadmill 6 days a week. Eventually I am going to start P90X but for now, I need to get back into decent shape before I can even attempt that! In order to burn 1 pound of fat a week I need to burn 3500 calories, or just under 600 calories a day. No problem! I started today. I was on the treadmill for just over an hour and it felt great. Jake was crying in his carseat for the first half of it until he fell asleep, and the crying woke Jackson up from his nap... so the situation wasn't ideal, but we got through it! One day down... LOTS to go! But I am excited! Any suggestions on ways to provide a little more control in my life would be much appreciated!

Congratulations Luis!

We just found out that Luis is the #1 agent in TEXAS for Premium (Life Insurance Sales) this month! Way to go, Luis!

Jackson's New Phase

... is coloring on EVERYTHING! Here are some examples:

Himself (I didn't even know crayon would mark on skin)

Our couch cusions... it was a really bad idea to get a cream colored couch with a toddler. They say everything comes out of microfiber though, so that's a plus.

The desk chair, he even chose a color that would contrast enough to be noticable, how nice :)

He also colored on our blinds. The bright side of things is that crayons are washable! I haven't cleaned it up yet, but we'll see how true that is.

Daddy's Haircut

I buzzed Luis' hair! I said that if we buzzed his head, the Secret Service would probably call the next day after he lost his professional looking hair... so we did it! (They didn't call, by the way :) I love it. We did this once right after we were married and never since! He has a crooked hairline in the back, but I'm learning!

What can I say... I'm not that crafty.

While Mom was visiting we began 2 projects. One of them was this cute collage on big letters. Well, they were supposed to be big letters, about 2 feet tall but we went to 2 craft stores down here and these were the biggest they had, less than one foot tall. So, we got them anyways, just to try it! I had fun doing it (Mom did the J). We basically glued the pictures to the letters and then I painted over it with mod podge to seal it all. These pictures are before the mod podge. Mom and I were surprised to find that in some spots, where the mod podge got on the pictures they turned green. When I was done and painted over the entire thing, I learned why. I figured out that if I used too much or left it on too long without spreading it out it turns green! Weird. So it is only green in spots, but I think it still looks pretty good for a first try!
