Daddy's Home!

Luis got home on Thursday night. He got home after the kids were in bed andhe had to get up and go to work on Friday before they woke up... so I didn't even tell them he was getting home until Friday after school. They were so excited. They made sure their room was nice and clean and we made a welcome home sign that they wrote on and put stickers on. We went to Ihop that night and they both wanted to sit by him, it was so cute. After Ihop we came home and watched "Walking with Dinosaurs" and had some of Daddy's delicious homemade popcorn! It was a late night! I don't think the boys went to bed until almost 10! He brought them both Army uniforms also, which are adorable! Saturday we went swimming at the YMCA. That was fun. We had a sitter come over so Luis and I could go on a date. We went to Red Robin and then shopping! I had a little birthday shopping spree at Kohls. It was fun. We also went to Joann's and got some fabric for Aubry's baby blankets! It was so nice to be out without kids! On Sunday we obviously went to church but we made choco-bananas and taught the boys how to play Uno. Luis also brought home individual popsicle makers, so we tried those out too. Turned out great. We spent this morning at the Memorial Day breakfast at the park and later we are going to a BBQ at a friends house. So we have had a lot of family time since Luis came home and it's been so great! The boys are excited to have him home and they have so much to tell him! :) Here are some pictures and video!

Kindergarten Graduation

Jackson had a graduation ceremony, which they called a kindergarten bridging ceremony. They were crossing the bridge into 1st grade. It was such a cute ceremony. They were supposed to dress up and it was a very serious event! Some parents even had balloons and flowers. Jax did great! Perfect behavior. They sang sweet songs and they all go to walk across the bridge when their name was called and hug their new teacher. It was so sweet! Jake was a little wiggly but we made it through. They all got to take home a balloon and they had cookies and juice after for everyone. Then we left and they took the kids to the park for a picnic. And they surprised the kids who had no pink slips this quarter with a bounce house party! Thankfully Jax was able to go! He had so much fun! I have attached pictures and video. Just a heads up. My camera sucks. :(

What an adorable baby!!!

What an adorable big boy!!!

Happy Mothers day!!!

It's sad to have Mother's day without Luis here... the boys have been really good though. I keep reminding them what day it is if they get a bit out of hand! It was cute to see them sing in church. Our bishop said something perfect in sacrament meeting. He said sometimes all it takes is to hear your Mom's voice and then everything is ok. That is 100% true. There have been times when I was really stressed or upset and everything felt better once I talked to Mom, and I can remember times when I called and just heard her say "hello" and I burst into tears! There is something about your mother's voice! Instant comfort! I hope my boys feel that way about me someday! I love you Mom, you are amazing and you are one of my best friends! Here are some pics of me and my boys... attempting some selfies and kid photography. Jake made me a giant self portrait in primary and Jax made this sweet card. Funny to see his answers to the questions about me! I weigh 4 pounds! Sweet! Apparantly my favorite food is hot dogs and my job is to clean and I make really good waffles (he had the frozen kind for breakfast so it must have been on his mind... I sure know how to use a toaster!) I asked him why he signed his name that way and he said the teacher helped him spell it. The guys were teaching today so we could go to relief society so I think there was some miscommunication with his sub about his name :)

Jacob Funny

I guess Jacob is correcting my grammar now. I was doing "This little piggy" and he asked me to do both his feet at once. So I started out and said "This little piggy went to the market..." while wiggling both toes at once... Jacob said "Mom, you need to say these. These little piggies". Ok then!

A child's prayer!

Jackson had a bad dream last night. He woke up crying at 2am and was very upset. He told me that someone was following him and they wanted to hurt him. It was so sad and kind of scary as a Mom to hear your son say something like that! He eventually went back to bed and tonight as he realized it was almost bedtime he got very nervous and was crying again and telling me about his bad dream. We read scriptures and had our family prayer like usual... and then I pointed out the picture above his bed. This is "Be Not Afraid" by Greg Olson. I am so glad we have this picture in the room because it gives them so much comfort. I asked him what Jesus is doing in the picture and Jax said "He's saving them." Yes! Exactly! I explained that Jesus will help us whenever we are afraid and we just need to pray and ask for help. For the past few weeks I've been having the boys say their own personal prayers out loud, trying to make that a habit for them. So after our talk about this picture and how it can help Jackson feel better about his dream... Jackson said his prayer. He said, through tears... "Dear Heavenly Father, Please help God to save me. Amen" It totally melted my heart! So simple! We sang some primary songs and he fell right to sleep! Poor Kid!!! I hope he's dreaming of Disneyland or "Frozen" or something super fun!
