Halloween

No time to comment! Just pics here! We had a great halloween!

American Flag Quilt

I made this flag quilt for a fundraiser for Luis' unit. It was fun but stressful because I didn't have very long to do it! Probably only about 2 weeks. They held a silent auction and it raised about $200 for the unit. Now I am making a winter quilt to be raffled off at their holiday party! So I'm on a time crunch again! I will post when that's done!

Jackson's 7th birthday

I recorded Jackson opening his presents but I didn't realize I would have to hold my phone sideways to make it right! So sorry you have to watch a sideways video! He was so excited to be 7 and they had a little party for him at school! He brought donuts to share with the class. After school we went and watched a movie in the theater "The Book of Life". It was pretty cute. Then we came home and had cake and opened presents. Thank you for the gifts/cards that were sent! Luis made the super cute cake!!! And I went to work early and Luis made 7 shaped pancakes and ham!!! Jackson said he had a great day!

Quilt for Aubry's baby

These are the 2 blankets I made for Aubry's baby, Savannah... She is due Oct 1 and Elyse threw the cutest baby shower I have ever seen!!! The first one is a fleece blanket with satin trim... it looks simple but it was actually really hard to put that binding on and I am never making another blanket like that again! But hey, it turned out cute so it was worth it just this once! The purple quilt is my favorite! If I have a girl I am going to make an identical one for her! It has a fuzzy back that is just so soft! Both blankets are larger than normal baby blankets, so hopefully they will be useful longer!

1st Grade!

Jackson started 1st Grade on August 12. He has done great so far. His teacher is Mrs. Wehrle and Jackson really likes her. He has come home with a smiley face for behavior every day! He has matured a lot over the summer and I can really see the change now that he's back at school. Of course, Jacob wanted his picture too!

Mom and Ethan's visit

Mom and Ethan just came for a week long visit! It was a blast! I think we were all exhausted by the end... well maybe not Ethan! Ethan got to go play laser tag with Luis (Ethan won :) and also they went shooting together. Mom, Ethan, Luis and I also went shooting on another day. It was fun!!! We all went bowling, one of the boys' favorite things to do!!! And there was lots of good food! I took mom to a birthday dinner at Olive Garden. It was great to spend time alone with her. I really didn't want to cook very much so we went out to eat almost every day :) Including at Pappy's Smokehouse in St Louis. YUM! I love BBQ. It was so much food and very good, worth the wait in line. Mom got to spend time quilting with her friends and they took her on a birthday trip into Missouri. The whole week was great and now I miss them!!! So sad when family leaves!

16 Weeks Pregnant!

I realize I haven't blogged in a really long time! I am now 16 weeks pregnant! Can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl. I'm due Feb 16. I am seeing a new doctor in St Louis who I just LOVE! This pregnancy has been different, giving me hope maybe it's a girl! I have been sick longer but I finally am feeling better! It's about time! I have a lot more heartburn this time around. I have a lot of aversions... I can't eat olives, which I usually love. Steam/humidity makes me sick. It's interesting to see how things are different with this pregnancy. I'm hoping any day I will feel baby move! Jackson and Jacob are so excited we are having a baby! They both want a sister. They love to rub my belly and feel the baby. It's very sweet. We took them out and they both bought toys for the baby. I think they will be great big brothers!

Update

Well, it has been a long time since I blogged. So I will do a couple of updates. Jackson lost his first tooth. He was so excited. He actually had 2 loose at the same time but one is still hanging in there. The tooth fairy left Jackson a gold coin, just like the movie Rise of the Guardians. Jax loved it!

We were able to visit Liz and Alan in June for about a week and a half. It was a lot of fun and we all got some good sun! They have an awesome Y over there that had a water park. So not only did we get to work out and try some fun classes (Piloxing... which kicked our butt!) but we also spent several hours a day at the pool! We made pizza and had lots of yummy treats. Thanks Liz and Alan for having us over!

I went to Girls camp with our ward at the end of June. That was so fun, I even got into a canoe for about 15 minutes. It was fun but I refused to get into the lake! Our YW are so awesome and it was great to be able to spend 4 whole days with them. More updates to come later!

Daddy's Home!

Luis got home on Thursday night. He got home after the kids were in bed andhe had to get up and go to work on Friday before they woke up... so I didn't even tell them he was getting home until Friday after school. They were so excited. They made sure their room was nice and clean and we made a welcome home sign that they wrote on and put stickers on. We went to Ihop that night and they both wanted to sit by him, it was so cute. After Ihop we came home and watched "Walking with Dinosaurs" and had some of Daddy's delicious homemade popcorn! It was a late night! I don't think the boys went to bed until almost 10! He brought them both Army uniforms also, which are adorable! Saturday we went swimming at the YMCA. That was fun. We had a sitter come over so Luis and I could go on a date. We went to Red Robin and then shopping! I had a little birthday shopping spree at Kohls. It was fun. We also went to Joann's and got some fabric for Aubry's baby blankets! It was so nice to be out without kids! On Sunday we obviously went to church but we made choco-bananas and taught the boys how to play Uno. Luis also brought home individual popsicle makers, so we tried those out too. Turned out great. We spent this morning at the Memorial Day breakfast at the park and later we are going to a BBQ at a friends house. So we have had a lot of family time since Luis came home and it's been so great! The boys are excited to have him home and they have so much to tell him! :) Here are some pictures and video!
